Chiayi Tianhou Temple Hinoki Train

This project presents the “Hinoki Train,” a collaborative design between Chiayi Tianhou Temple and the Alishan Forest Railway. Located near Beimen Station and known as “Mazu beneath Alishan,” the temple reflects a deep connection between local faith and forestry heritage. The train, crafted with hinoki wood, integrates traditional religious elements with contemporary design language, creating an immersive cultural experience. By connecting history, belief, and movement, the project offers a new way to experience Chiayi’s unique cultural identity.
